Early and Late Requirements

10.1 Early and Late Requirements

The i* modeling framework provides the modeler with a tools-supported graphical notation that facilitates the ability to make informed choices on what procedure to follow during the modeling process. The set of guidelines discussed in this section intends to provide the beginner modeler with methodologies, or procedural choices, or approaches that can help in attaining systematic modeling processes and drawing a clear line between the As-Is situation, which captures what exists now versus the To-Be situation, which models what might exist in the future. Both AS-Is and To-Be models deal with early requirements. The To-Be model(s) can be later further decomposed to produce more detailed, later requirements.
